Swiss Currency Mixed Versus Majors On Thursday Morning [USD/CHF]

The Swiss franc was varied against its major counterparts in trading on Thursday morning in New York. The franc saw little movement against the buck and yen, but saw weakness against the pound and strength versus the euro. The currency moved with little economic news from the area.

Swiss Currency Moves Little Against Yen [CHF/JPY]

Versus the yen, the Swiss currency saw little direction into trading on Thursday. As action moved into the mid-morning, the franc bounced between a high of 99.09 and a low of 98.62. Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Kazumasa Iwata said Thursday that Financial Market turmoil and a U.S. housing market decline resulting from the subprime crisis may pose a real danger to economic growth in Japan.

Swiss Currency Gains On Euro [EUR/CHF]

In trading against the euro on Thursday, the Swiss currency saw strength. By the mid-morning action, the franc had advanced to a mark of 1.6606. The pair moved as the European Central Bank maintained its key interest rate at a six-year high for the third straight month on Thursday.

Swiss Currency Falls Against Pound [GBP/CHF]

The Swiss currency fell against its British counterpart in trading on Thursday morning. The franc dropped to 2.4018 versus the pound as action progressed. Traders considered data that showed the Bank of England held key interest rate on Thursday. The UK’s central bank maintained its key interest rate at a six-year high of 5.75% for the third straight month.

Swiss Currency Moves Little Against Buck [USD/CHF]

The Swiss currency moved little against its American counterpart in trading on Thursday morning. The franc bounced between a high of 1.1770 and a low of 1.1808. The pair moved as the U.S. Department of Labor released its report on initial jobless claims in the week ended September 29, showing that jobless claims rose more than expected.

Dollar Rallies To Two-Week High Against Franc [USD/CHF]

The dollar climbed in mid-morning trading against the Swiss franc and reached a two-week high. The greenback began to rise at around 8:30 a.m. ET and has climbed to 1.1814 against the franc. The rally took the buck away from a 2 ½ year low, reached late last week.

British Pound Falls Against Swiss Franc [GBP/CHF]

In the early Asian deals on Thursday, the British Pound showed choppy trading versus the Swiss Franc. But the pair edged lower towards the end of the session and slipped further during the early European deals. The Pound fetched a low of 2.3900 by about 3:50 am Eastern Time.

Swiss Franc Trending Up Against Greenback [USD/CHF]

The Swiss franc moved slightly down against the US dollar during the Asian deals on Tuesday but gained ground by about 2.25 am ET. Moving from 1.2044, the franc hit as high as 1.1975 of a dollar lately. If the pair strengthens further, 1.1928 can likely be the next target level.
