BNP Paribas Expects No Change In BoE Interest Rates []

Raymond Van der Putten from BNP Paribas commented on Monday morning that according to UK National Statistics, industrial output contracted by 0.4% in September stagnated. He stated that this was largely due to a sharp decline in manufacturing output, whereas activity in the other sectors inched higher.

Trichet stresses economical uncertainty and downside risks for growth

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – The president of the European Central Bank has pointed out the heightened uncertainty to baseline economical scenario and the downside risks to economical growth on the long term in his press release after the release of the Bank’s monetary Policy decision.

Trichet has also warned about the upside risks to price stability and he affirmed that price risks will be “very closely” monitored which could discard an interest rate cut over the next months, the Bank’s president has stated that he will act in a “firm and timely manner” in order to keep price stability.

In relation to the recent credit crisis, Trichet affirmed that the Bank will pay “great attention” to financial markets developments, and that given the recent conditions in those markets, he stressed the need to act with “particular caution”.

BNP Paribas States As Expected, BoE Keepts Rate Unchanged []

US Dollar Down Versus Slovakian Koruna [USD/SKK]

After declining slightly against its Slovakian counterpart in the early Asian deals on Thursday, the US dollar gained ground at about 10:20 pm Eastern Time. Moving from 24.2640, the pair hit a high of 24.3620 by about 4:45 am ET. Thereafter the US currency lost its momentum and was quoted at 24.2690 against the Slovakian koruna as at 7:25 am ET.

Greenback Ticking Up Versus Danish Krone [USD/DKK]

The US dollar lost ground by about 2.05am ET against the Danish krone, in the early European deals on Thursday. Falling from 5.2965, the pair hit a low of 5.2726 at about 6.10am ET. The pair has collected a few pips lately and was worth 5.2824 as of 7.25am ET.

Greenback Falls Against Swedish Krona [USD/SEK]

After a brief down trend, the US dollar moved slightly higher against the Swedish krona in the Asian deals on Thursday. However, the dollar lost its ground in the early European session and reached a low of 6.4976 by about 7:05 am ET. If the pair weakens further, 6.4737 can probably be the next target level.

Greenback Down Versus Czech Koruna [USD/CZK]

After moving sideways in the Asian deals, the US dollar lost ground against the Czech koruna at about 4.20 am ET, Thursday. The pair fetched a low of 19.5000 by about 6.50 am. Of late the pair has collected a few pips and was worth 19.5240 as of 7.25 am.

US Dollar Ticking Up Versus Turkish Lira [USD/TRY]

In the early deals on Thursday, the US dollar trended down against its Turkish counterpart. Compared to yesterday’s New York session close of 1.2064, the pair hit 1.2023 by about 5:45 am Eastern Time. Thereafter the greenback has been seeing ticking up and was quoted at 1.2057 against the Turkish lira by about 7:15 am ET.

Greenback Ticking Up Against Hungarian Forint [USD/HUF]

The US dollar gained ground at about 10.15 pm ET against the Hungarian forint in the early Asian deals on Thursday and reached 179.54 by about 4.10 am. Loosing ground thereafter, the pair fetched a low of 178.48 at about 6.10 am. Since then, the pair has been ticking up and was worth 179.04 as of 7.15 am.
