The USD is firmer across the board as commodities prices continue to move lower. Also, there is a growing belief among some traders that the Fed’s recent historic moves will start to work and this is adding to the positive sentiment for the USD. The yen is currently trading mixed…

The US dollar strengthened against its Norwegian counterpart in early deals on Monday. At about 11:40 pm ET, the pair equaled 5.3011, which set a 26-day high for the buck. The dollar-krone pair closed Friday’s New York deals at 5.2614.

The US currency advanced to a 13-day high against the Malaysian ringitt during early deals on Monday. The dollar that closed last week ’s deals at 3.1770 against the ringitt reached 3.2070 at about 11:00 pm ET. On the upside, 3.2165 is seen as the next target level for the pair.

The South Korean won edged higher against the US dollar in early Asian deals on Monday. The pair reached 998.45 by about 9:55 pm ET, which set a one-week high for the won. The dollar-won pair that closed Friday’s deals at 1003.20 is currently trading at 1000.10

During early Asian deals on Monday, the Swiss currency weakened against its major counterparts. Currently, the franc is trading at multi-day lows of 2.0140 against the pound, 1.0182 against the dollar, 98.15 against the yen and 1.5635 versus the euro.

The British pound strengthened against its major counterparts in early Asian deals on Monday, hitting a 5-day high against the Swiss Franc. But the pound fell to 4-day low against the dollar during this time period.

Monday morning in Asia, the Swiss currency declined against its major counterparts. The franc dipped to a 12-day low against the dollar, 10-day low versus the sterling and 4-day lows versus the yen and the euro.

The US currency traded higher against its Singapore counterpart during early deals on Monday. The greenback reached 1.3928 versus the Singapore dollar at about 10:40 pm ET, compared to last week’s close of 1.3869. This set a 13-day high for the former.
